Dovetail Community Workshop offers online woodworking tutorials
ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KRQE) – Dovetail Community Workshop offers carpentry classes in Albuquerque and during the COVID-19 lockdown, Dovetail has been working to move from its usual in-person classes to online tutorials. They have developed a list of topics that transfer to online education and now focus more on woodworking techniques than on entire projects.
Owner of Dovetail, Erin O’Donnell explains what they do and how you can get involved in the online woodworking courses. The community provided Dovetail with suggestions for tutorial topics, including setting up tools, using stains, finishing, and more.
O’Donnell says Dovetail is open to all ages and all levels of experience. “It doesn’t matter if you’ve had a bit of woodworking experience or if it’s just something you’ve always wanted to try, we have so many newbies coming to us just to learn how to get started,” O’Donnel said. .
As COVID-19 restrictions are relaxed and people can return to the workshop, Dovetail will likely continue to offer tutorials online. On Saturday May 23, Dovetail will be offering a Virtual Pepper Mill Turning Class for $ 20.
Woodturner Don Roden will demonstrate how to make a Pepper Mill on the lathe and also answer questions during this live event. Visit Dovetail Community Workshop website to register and for more information on upcoming courses.
